Established with the initial exhibition of Andy Warhol in March, 2007 in Daegu to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Andy Warhol's death, LEEAHN Gallery has presented creative and exclusive exhibitions that provide international and multi-faceted perspectives on art. We also expand our networks with a number of international art galleries and artists to introduce the dynamism and newness of the current art markets and artworks. We set no boundaries in presenting all kinds of media of art, including paintings, sculptures, photography, videos, and installations so as to provide audiences with different ways to explore the contemporary art world.
Since the foundation of LEEAHN, we have played a pivotal role in composing the first solo exhibitions of world-renowned artists such as Alex Katz, Jim Dine and David Salle in Korea. Moreover, we have hosted exclusive shows of influential international artists, including Damien Hirst, Nam-Jun Paik, A.R. Penck, and Bernar Venet. At the same time, LEEAHN has continued to work closely with young artists: Eve Sussman, Jennifer Steinkamp, Paritica Piccinini, Carlos Rolon/DZINE and Japanese artist Mr.
Furthermore, we have fostered talents and careers of emerging Korean artists and presented their works in a variety of spaces such as art museums and international art fairs held in Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea. The artists who presented their artworks with LEEAHN are Dong-gi Lee, Ho-Deuk Kim, Hyun-Wook Ryu, Kyo-Jun Lee, Un-Kyung Hur, Ja-Hyun Koo, Nak-Beom Kho, O-Bong Kwon and Ki-Soo Kim; mixed media artist: Jeong-Hwa Choi, Hye-Rim Cha, Hyun-Soo Kim and Min-Kyoung Kim; photographer: Boomoon; video artist: Lee Nam Lee.
In pursuit of expanding more opportunities to present various art exhibitions, to the public and collectors, the founder, Hye-Ryung Ahn, opened another branch of LEEAHN Gallery in a traditional and cultural district called Seochon, Seoul, in March 2013. Since the expansion of galleries, LEEAHN has taken a role of a guide for art collectors and has strengthened the relationship with a number of domestic and international galleries to establish talents and reputation of the LEEAHN's artists in the global art markets. In addition to that, we publish a variety of exhibition catalogues and present public artworks in outdoor space in the hopes of creating cultural and artistic environment. LEEAHN Gallery will continue to endeavor to become a leading gallery that can demonstrate the wide-ranged art works, trends of art markets and art discourses through exhibitions.
