The Hong Kong Open Printshop was founded in 2000. It is the first non profit-making open printshop that is run by artists. Our major objective is to promote visual art with an emphasis on image making. Apart from creative works, we also try our very best to give back to the community by providing art services, so people from all classes and ages can enjoy art.
Besides international exchange exhibitions, HKOP has started the "Artist-In-Residence" scheme so that young or budding artists can be provided a space for their creative work and exchange. In promoting image-making, HKOP has been co-organizing printmaking or imaging courses and classes with schools and tertiary institutes in providing studio space and equipment support.
Recently, HKOP has also been partnering with social work institutions to cultivate creativities and artistic skills for underprivileged groups - from new immigrant children to old aged pensioners, in letting them to share the joy of creating, so as to help them regain confidence and fuse into the community better.
