eitoeiko debuted at 101TOKYO contemporary art fair in April, 2009.
eitoeiko handles only the two extremes of contemporary 'Fine' art and novel pieces that tread the boundary between art and non-art.
eitoeiko will introduce Japanese artists to a foreign audience as well as bring artists from abroad to a Japanese audience.
After 5 minutes walk from Yaraiguchi-exit, Kagurazaka station, Tokyo Metro Tozai line, eitoeiko stands by Yarai park. eitoeiko is in a calm residential district.
Designed by Tadashi Yasui and built by Nakashima-komuten, you can see two beautiful wooden houses which have two floors. On the left from road, the ground floor is eitoeiko.
And on the right, a cute cafeteria will open in spring, 2010.
Once there was a daimyo's alternating Edo residence, Sakai Wakasa, in 17th century. The residence had a bamboo wall, so it called Yarai(bamboo-wall)cho(town).
