Always known for its daring vigor, the Sin Pin Pier—Absolutely Art Space was founded in the autumn of 1997 by a group of enthusiastic and ambitious local artists. On the second floor of an old building located at Dayong Road, Yancheng District, Kaohsiung City, the SPP boasts diverse art exhibitions showing works by talented artists at home and abroad. It also gives art lessons, seminars and theme exhibitions from time to time. There is also a small but cozy lounge where self-serve coffee is offered. The lounge provides a place to rest and sometimes to meet face to face with famous artists in Taiwan or from other countries. Even with its unimpressive revenue during the past years, the SPP can be regarded as an important landmark of visual art other than Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.
