Puri Art Gallery was the first established gallery in Malang, East Java – Indonesia in 2001, but then moved to Surabaya in 2004. Puri was founded by dr. Purnomo Limanto, SpOG who has devoted himself into a hobby of his, which is collecting antiques and art almost his whole life.

Since 2001, Puri Art Gallery has been devotedly supporting the art atmosphere in the East Java district and continuing to dedicate ourselves in establishing the art in the region, nationally and internationally.

Puri’s extensive collection and exhibitions present a wide variety of media including works on paper, painting, collage, sculpture, and installation. Puri Art Gallery has held successful curated art exhibitions to both introduce upcoming artists to the art industry as well as to educate art to the general public. Puri Art Gallery also frequently work closely with curators in exhibiting the work of established local artists who have contributed in the contemporary art discourse and who are considered influential to the art development in the region.

Puri has actively joining both local and international Art Fair such as C-Art Show, Bazaar Art Jakarta, and Art Expo Malaysia in 2009, and will continually doing so in order to represent our artists to bigger art scenes.

Puri Art Gallery also provided a space for art education in various program such as art discussion and debate; book publishing contains bona fide information and critiques on Indonesian artworks; and a small library for art students in the region.

As one of the co-founder of Art Galleries Association of Indonesia (AGSI), Puri will now extend its wings to Jakarta by joining the other 8 AGSI galleries in Jakarta Art District. Hoping that the new approach to the public will help to expose and promote the artist from East Java Region.

Puri will take place in a new hip location right in the centre of Jakarta, which is in the Exclusive Area named Jakarta Art District of Grand Indonesia Shopping Town, along with other 9 prominent galleries.
