HULU Culture – a non profit organisation dedicated to promoting and preserving the local cultures.
Traditions, local cultures and art can be found in every day life but they are easily overlooked in rapid, city life. Moreover, globalization and redevelopment of cities often diminish valuable local heritage. It is essential to protect our own traditions and local cultures.
HULU believes that every individual has an equal right to participate in cultural and art development. The organisation’s desire is to preserve the heritage and culture for future generations of Hong Kong.
Through research, education and empowerment, HULU Culture organises exhibitions, shows, and interactive activities for the public. The organisation aims to build a local cultural resource centre to link citizens and social resources together. HULU encourages the public to participate in the community-based cultural and arts exchange; the organisation also hopes to inspire them to be proud of their own cultures and arts, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Through education programmes, HULU Culture nurtures in citizens the need to be active in their civic responsibility to promote community-based culture and arts, as well as economic development.
