Kim Chong yung Sculpture Museum was established in 2002 to praise the soul of Kim Chong yung, a pioneer of the Korean modern sculpture and support rising artists who are devoted to sculpture. Kim Chong yung Sculpture Museum located at a calm housing area of the foot of Bukhansan plans various exhibitions in order to deliver the art world of Kim Chong yung and contributes to the sculpture art development through the artist of today and rising artist exhibition.
In order to preserve the achievements of Kim Chong yung who embodied the beauty of 'Bul-gak' as well as introduced abstract sculpture to Korea long ago, Kim Chong yung Sculpture Museum performs research and exhibition about more abundant and accurate Archive work and art works. In addition, it confers the Kim Chong yung Sculpture Award every two years to young artists so as to raise creative willingness and keeps his will as an educator.
Besides the contemporary architecture beauty and refined surrounding landscape of the Sculpture Museum and sculpture works, it offers various attractions.
Moreover, it operates an archive full of various data and art books which is rarely seen in the domestic art galleries and a cozy cafe for rest and convenience of an audience.
